Went exploring at Fingeringhoe Wick nature reserve last weekend, run by the Essex Wildlife Trust. Amazing views across the flats ..
Further inland we explored a wonderful wooded walk area, full of fallen leaves and secret paths and .. fungi! I didn't get to go on a guided fungi walk this autumn as I'd hoped, so I just snapped anything I could find to look up in books later.

Up here we don't seem to have had much in the way of fungi this year yet last year there was all sorts. Presumably the conditions haven't been very good which is a pity as I like seeing all the different kinds when I'm out walking.
Fungi are a unique organism- neither a plant nor an animal. I revered fungi for their immense self-confidence. They can prepare food without the help of the mighty sun! Fungi are a very good gift of nature. This natural scavenger breakdown so much garbage and
make things decompose. ( A real relief from the garbage problem) Thus improve the fertility of the land.
Very nice pictures about fungi but i am looking more information on fungi. I appreciate you for this .
thank you
Thanks for your comments, everyone! I shall post about fungi again when I've learnt a bit more myself .. whenever I look at pictures in books, they never seem to quite match, somehow. Warm wishes to you all :-)
