January Skies

Tuesday morning this week, I pulled back the bedroom curtains to a stunning sky ..
in the east the most colourful sunrise you could ever imagine full orange and peach, lilac and purples turning pink and lighting up the sea to the south on the skyline..
then directly opposite in the west a beautiful white disc full moon sitting snugly on top of the early morning houses in a picture postcard blue sky.

I grabbed these snaps on my mobile phone whilst leaning out the bedroom window, but they don't really come anything close to capturing the colours.

So wonderful to see both the sun and the moon both in their full glory in the sky at once. Happy New Year to you all and wishing everyone clear skies and plain sailing in 2012!

Hi Hedgewitch,

Isn't it wonderful to be able to appreciate the simple things in life. To just be in that moment and enjoy it.

I understand when you say you could not capture the true beauty of the sky....I have found this myself. At least you know just how lovely it was :)

I love the contrasting sky pictures, with each their own gorgeous colors and celestial beauty! xxx

Hello Cheryl, and thanks! One of the things I love best about being a mum is sharing the simple things with a child .. J gets really excited about seeing the moon or a sunset (he likes to tell me all the different colours he can see) just like he talks to bees and checks all the strawberry plants to see if there's any strawberries ready yet. Spending time with him reminds me of the things that are important in life :-)

Hi Leslie, thanks for being kind about my pictures! One thing I'd definitely like to improve is my photography :-) Maybe one day I'll be able to do more than point and click :-)
