A time to relax and draw breath .. and enjoy the fruits of the earth. Lately I've been eating wonderful crispy jacket spuds and sweet local apples. And stewing lovely Bramley apples to mix with blackberries in crumbles and pies.

Isn't it great to have local apples again?!
Much to my son's dismay, we have been avoiding buying apples during the summer (when they are flown in from the Southern Hemisphere).
So we are very excited to see local apples back in the shops (and, of course, growing on local trees too!)
Hi Hedgewitch
Great to see you back - have missed your posts. Sounds like you've been busy - autmun is such a great time, with harvesting and preserving. Enjoy! xx
I agree, the Equinox's are special times. Unlike many I welcome the arrival of shorter nights after the Autumn Equinox, as one can then light a house with candles and bring in sunshine for the winter evenings
Autumn my favourite time of year.....my old apple tree is weeping with the weight of beautiful blushing apples....my little grandson climbed the steps and picked some today.....what a joy.....
I am so glad to see you back....have missed you loads......
Your handmade items are beautiful. I am really enjoying your blog, glad I found it.
