So colourful hedgewitch....enjoy.
Thanks cheryl .. they were scrummy :-)
Yummy! There is nothing like fresh veggies straight from the garden!
How gorgeous are they?! Do the purple podded peas keep their colour when cooked or do they turn green like lots of purple beans do? Lovely to have your produce. xx
It IS very satisfying, sandpiper!Yes, they all turned green, naturewitch :-)
I'm back after taking a break from blogging, so apologies for being a latecomer here! While I'm now 100% certain your yellow-podded mystery pea is Golden Sweet, I may not be very helpful in identifying the purple one. There are lots of purple-podded peas and they all look very similar. They are beautiful though!Sadly all purple peas and beans turn green when you cook them because the colour comes from the pigment anthocyanin which is water-soluble! Sometimes if you steam them very lightly you can retain a bit of colour...
