Valerian

I'm away for a couple of days now, so I just wanted to thank everyone for stopping by and leaving such kind and interesting comments .. I will be back on Sunday to reply to everyone and visit you all again. Until then, I leave you with a little photo of the Valerian which is just coming into flower, as we were talking about it this week.

Hi Hedgewitch,
I saw your lovely pendants (with the pressed herbs) and thought I'd share something with you. I've made similar things and something that makes a great effect is putting on a base wash, then rubbing a candle across the imprint (like dry brushing) before putting on a final colour (or 2). You get a wax resist effect with the wash going right into the nooks and crannies. Always fun to try new techniques!

Hi Hedgewitch.....

Love Valerian, the insects have virtually been bathing in mine, they love the pollen dusting they get.
Have a lovely time....come back refreshed and well.
Did a little post for you and Sherry yesterday.

I love valerian ... and the roots make a lovely soothing tincture. A very magical herb and a good thing to have around.

It's really nice to see you've put a picture of yourself up! It's always good to see the face behind the blog.

Many thanks for sharing this, Nathalie.. I love to experiment and will definitely give this a try, you are most kind!

Cheryl, that's exactly how I feel - refreshed in spirit! Spending some time away, especially in wild places and sunshine, was a good recharge for the batteries :-)

Sounds intriguing, Yarrow - I'm coming over to your blog to find out more...

Hi Rebsie! Yes, I thought it was time to step out into the open, as it were :-)

Thanks, marilena!
